Javascript

Javascript

One of the core technologies of the World Wide Web, alongside HTML and CSS. Over 97% of websites use JavaScript on the client side for web page behavior.

Javascript

NodeJS

Node.js is an open-source, cross-platform, back-end JavaScript runtime environment that runs on the V8 engine and executes JavaScript code outside a web browser.

react

React

React is a free and open-source front-end JavaScript library for building user interfaces based on UI components. React can be used as a base in the development of single-page or mobile applications.

django

Django

Django is a Python-based free and open-source web framework that follows the model–template–views architectural pattern.

NavigatEDU

Built for a General Assembly Hackathon, working with 3 other SWE and 5 UX/UI Designers over a course of 5 days. We made this site under the topic of Digital Equity and Accessibility and it was made as a tool to teach people how to use tools of the internet, like the browser. It also has a way to change the language of the website so people of all nationalities could use the website.

A team of 4 Software Engineers:

  • Chris McClarin: Full Stack
  • Brian McCune: Frontend
  • Maggie Yu: Frontend
  • Dustin Greyfield: Backend

A team of 5 UX/UI Designers:

  • Colleen Barrett

Eyebleach

A simple website using Javascript, HTML and CSS that takes in information randomly from 3 api's to show images and videos of cats and dogs while showing an interesting fact about whichever animal is on screen. To enhance this already great app, I would find more api's of pictures and facts of different animals so that there is more variance.

Wild Texas Thrift

A showcase website for an online store that sells thrift goods. This website uses HTML and CSS and has multiple pages with the use of ExpressJS and NodeJS. It has responsive design that changes the layout as the screen changes size and authentication logic. In the future, I plan to improve this design by adding support and security for actual purchases to be done on the site.

Warhandler

Warhammer 40K is a tabletop miniatures game by Games Workshop, and it is one of the most popular army scale tabletop games in the world. As in other miniature wargames, players enact battles using miniature models of warriors and fighting vehicles. This website keeps track of all the different statistics of the units and allows you to build and set up your own units. This was made with React as a frontend framework and ExpressJS as the backend. To supplement this website, I am going to make a list making system that will allow a user to build their own army list.

A team of 3 members made this project:

  • Chris McClarin: Scrum and Frontend Developer
  • Andy Terwilliger: CSS Developer and Full Stack Developer
  • Kendlyn Marriott: Backend Developer and PitchDeck

Jobapp App

When on the hunt for a job, a person might apply to a hundred jobs, and each application requires a resume, a cover letter, thank you notes and much more. This site is to keep track of all those documents and jobs applied for. My plans for the future include adding who at the company has been contacted.
